I'd really like to know just how many people are out there suffering day in and day out, like I do.
I have chronic pain from both of my spine surgeries, I take pain meds to help fight that off, and they work fairly well most of the time, but I can't sleep.
And the no sleeping things is 100 times worse if I don't take my pain meds.
I'd say I get roughly about 2-3 hours of sleep per night, and that's on a good night.
Most of the time I lay wide awake in my bed until the alarm goes off to wake the teens for school, or I am just sitting here at my computer all night waiting for the alarm to go off.
Then, I'm awake almost the entire day, sometimes I get tired enough around noon-ish to take a quick 1 hour nap, and that's it, that's all my body needs because once I wake from the nap, I feel completely refreshed again.
So what about you?
Do you suffer from both chronic pain and insomnia at the same time?
Please answer my poll to the right.
The poll has no end date, so anyone can answer whenever.
Thanks!

I had two neck fusions from a ATV accident along with 7 or 8 other surgery's on both shoulders, elbow, hand and also had a infection of the colon and had 2 feet of it removed.Iended up with a rod screwed into C1-C7, it looks more like a butter knife than a rod but they call it a rod. I would say that insomnia was the worst thing I ever dealt with. Pain meds can sometimes keep you from sleeping but in my case I had sleep apnea and I had it so bad It caused insomnia due to fact I had began not to breath during my so called sleep. I was waking up 46 times per hour in my first sleep study but my oxygen levels dropped very low and the brain protects the body by causing insomnia but I wish I would have told me why it would have saved me from some grief. I think the insomnia was worse than the pain, going for several days without a wink will drive you nuts. Hope you get better soon.
